Deforestation is where trees of forests are cut down. This is a major problem for wildlife in the area because they lose their habitat, homes, hiding places (camoflague) and food source when deforestation occurs. Deforestation's main causes are demand for lumber and demand for land. New laws are trying to make lumber companies plant the same or more trees than they cut down.

Carbon credits is another potential solution.
