Are you worried about wasting too much water when you flush your toilet? The toilet-flushing mechanism is triggered by the water level in the tank. 1. Lay the brick on a square of aluminum foil. Wrap the brick securely in the foil, making sure to seal the open sides tightly. The foil will keep the brick from leaving debris in the tank that can scratch or clog the toilet.
2. Remove the lid from the toilet tank and flush the toilet.
3. Place the brick flat on the bottom of the toilet tank while the tank is refilling, making sure it is not blocking any part of the flushing mechanism. Placing the brick inside the tank while it is refilling will ensure that the extra bulk in the tank will not cause overflow.
4. Leave the brick in the tank for as long as desired, replacing it every 6 months to 1 year.

Tips & WarningsEdit

Always keep an eye out for any silt or other debris in the toilet bowl when using this brick method. If you spot any, pull out the brick and either wrap it more tightly or replace it altogether.
